Guilty Pleasures

I have discovered that I like Duran Duran. They just really don't fit in with the other stuff I listen to (classic rock and some grunge). But I don't give a damn what people think of my music taste, I'm going to listen to what I want.

I first heard DD 4 or 5 years ago; we were in either Italy or Spain and 'Ordinary World' came on the radio whilst we were in a taxi. I didn't know who it was but I loved it. The DJ then announced it was by Duran Duran (I think it was an english station for some reason) and I thought "oh no. I can't like this band because dad likes them" (I still have this mentality. I hate Jethro Tull because he likes them >_<). But I thought 'its only one song, it's alright'. Later I heard 'Rio' and loved it, and I was finding this weird since I am completely into rock music. Sometime last year I heard 'Hungry Like the Wolf' which I also loved. I just went 'why do I like this? I'm into Deep Purple and AC/DC and Led Zeppelin... and Duran Duran??). So today I thought I'd give my dad's DD greatest hits album a spin and it turns out that I really like it. I shouldn't, but I do. Hey, we're all allowed guilty pleasures aren't we?

Mocks

My GCSE mocks are next week and I have hardly done any revision, I have mostly spent my time listening to music. I bought The Stooges' Funhouse and Audioslave's eponymous album on Sunday. Funhouse is a good album, although I need to give it another listen. Audioslave is rather awesome. But I feel rather bad because I have hardly any RATM and really need to listen to them.

Happy New Year!

Happy new year to anyone who reads this blog! (Which is about no one). *tumbleweed*

We celebrated New Years Eve with a Chinese takeaway (which I always love) and I stayed up to see 2009 in. AC/DC's 'Big Jack' was the last song I heard in 2008, as it was playing on the radio.

I don't really have any resolutions for 2009, apart from: buy loads of CDs!

*random* I'm typing this whilst wearing the crown I received from my cracker.
