Christmas over for another year...

Me and my family spent Christmas at our holiday home in the countryside which happens to be a converted windmill (without the sails sadly). Lack of computer down there made it unable for me to blog on Christmas day, and I arrived back yesterday but was too tired to blog.

Anyway there was nothing spectacular about Christmas this year. I received little odds and ends from my brother and sister. Grandma sent me a large book on art - "The Story Of Art" which I am now reading and is actually quite interesting. I got other little bits and money from aunts, uncles and godparents. My parents gave me the game 'We ♥ Katamari', which, in my opinion, is the most addicting game ever. I had no idea how rolling up stuff could be so damn fun. My sister loves it too. I am still awaiting a couple of CDs (to be honest I actually don't know which ones I want - I keep changing. It was Aerosmith and Magnum, then it changed to Skid Row and Cinderella, and now it's The Doors. Also, I have just found out that there are two bands called Skid Row which has annoyed me for some reason (like when I found out that there were two Nirvanas). No idea why.) Anyway I'll be getting some CDs soon, as I haven't bought one for five months! And I hate half my CD collection.

Last week of the holidays and I need to revise for mock GCSEs. Ah well, it means I get to listen to music all day long...

Weekend

I actually just wasted this weekend which was really stupid. Playing SOTC and watching TV and pretty much doing absolutely nothing. I watched the first episode of the Survivors remake which was okay, didn't really grab me but nor did it make me want to stick pins in my eyes out of boredom. So I'll probably watch the next episode.

My school had it's craft fair on Sunday and there was a magician there! I know I'm a bit old to get excited over magicians but !!. I really want to know how they do their tricks as it really annoys me not knowing. Like there was one where he pours milk into a cone made of newspaper, and he poured so much milk in it started to drip out the end of the newspaper. Then he screws the newspaper up and there is no milk! The paper is completely dry! And it's a single sheet of paper so that the milk cannot be absorbed! And then there's the traditional put-the-tissues-in-a-tube-one-by-one-and-pull-them-out-knotted trick. How is it done? I'm so fascinated by it. I want to become a magician now just so I can go "Hah! I know how to do this trick and you can't". And piss everybody off. But then I guess it wouldn't be as fun since you know how to do it and it isn't magical any more.

Ill

Past weekend I spent ill; I think I probably still am. I acquired a really bad cough (still). I had one that lasted for a month once so I'm going to have to get used to it. I'm sneezing a lot too which I hate. I also wish I could stop being so damn hungry. All the time. I have an insane appetite. I eat more than my Dad when it comes to roast dinners. And then I will be hungry the next day. /rant

Today on the train on the way back home I heard some people talking about Harry Potter; and *spoiler* why Snape killed Dumbledore and I had completely forgotten why he did that. So I got stressed for the rest of the train journey (five minutes, yeah) until I could get home and get HP7 out and read the chapter. As you can see I get annoyed over silly things, but that's the way I roll.

Back from Tunisia

It's been half term week and it has gone so quickly. We all went to Tunisia for our holiday, having been there once before three years ago. It wasn't so sunny this time but most days still had amazingly great weather. The hotel still had amazingly great food. Again we took a camel ride which was bumpy. Also, they have the most random cereals over there; Hamtaro, Barbie, TMNT, Iron Kid and Naruto cereals are all available to be bought. Sadly we didn't get any though. I read three books whilst I was there; No Time For Goodbye, The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, half of Pride and Prejudice and half of The Kite Runner. All were good books; I only reread P&P for school otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

The past week

Last Friday I got a new haircut... which involved getting a fringe. It was weird at first, considering I haven't had a fringe for about 6 years. I'm used to it now. It's fun to flick it out of your eyes by shaking your head.

Last weekend I went on a geography trip to Swanage. It was really nice and I got sunburnt. It was sunnier there than it has been all summer long. We walked along the cliffs and visited Old Harry Rocks, which are beautiful. We then visited shops in Swanage town and ate ice cream. The ice cream had a dinosaur on it, 'twas awesome. We stayed in a centre and we had the largest room, so some of the people on the trip decided to see if we could get everyone into it. We managed to get half before everyone cleared out. The next day we went to Lulworth Cove, again, very beautiful. Our guide person talked so much and kept on mentioning that ''three quarters of a million people visit here every year. Imagine having one and a half million feet walking along here *points to path*'' She mentioned it about twenty times.

International talk like a pirate day!

Well as you know today was international talk like a pirate day! Arrr. After school the spork pirates got together and did the usual: have a picnic of bread, houmous, gummy worms and lemonade. This time round we also bought some giant chocolate buttons. We ate this in a graveyard which had a children's playground slap-bang in the middle of it (it is weird I know).

Decided I want to buy a new mp3: the Creative Zen 8GB for £70. I'm almost there. Should be getting it in a couple of weeks time. I also think I need a new camera as my current one is alright but not that good.

Summer

At the start of the summer holidays the whole family headed off to Somerset. We have a converted windmill holiday home thing down there that we stay in. It was über boring as we go there five times a year and do mostly nothing. So I started a new FFIII game even though I haven't finished the first one. It was boring and we're going there again at the end of the holidays.

After that I had a free week when I did my homework. I was dreading the end of the week when I had to go to some Quaker Holiday Camp because it sounded a little boring and I hadn't gone to York by train on my own before.

A couple of days before I went to York we found someone who I could travel with from London to York. At 1:30 on Sunday I boarded the train with another girl called Holly. After a 2 hour train ride and a taxi drive I arrived at the holiday camp. People greeted me and took me to the main hall, where I met my two cousins. There were a lot of people there, all talking. It was quite intimidating as the only two people I knew were my cousins, but they made me feel more at home. I met the people who I was to share a room with and they seemed quite friendly. Actually, you're probably going to get quite bored of reading this, I could go into every minute detail about the camp. Basically, to sum it up, it was one of the most amazing and most fun weeks of my life. I was completely wrong about it being boring. The people there were so nice (scarily so) and the atmosphere is so happy. It has made me feel a lot more confident in life and has also made me hate school even more as most people there are just gah.

Anyway, today I am suffering from post holiday camp depression, life just feels so lonely and bare now. I went out to HMV today and bought three new albums, Led Zeppelin II & III and Sonic Temple by the Cult. I am also learning Edie on the guitar and can sort of play the intro bit.

Shadow Of The Colossus

This game is so goddamn beautiful. It's just amazing riding on your horse, Agro, through a vast plain and into some forest. Or swimming across a lake with some stormy sky overhead. And the colossi are just amazing. I have only defeated four so far but I love Phaedra, the fourth colossus that looks like a horse. I also loved the little field it was in. This game really pushes the Playstation 2's graphics to the limit. I could go on and on about this game. But I won't as you will get bored.

It was the last day of term today and the last day of the HORRID summer dresses that are sacks made from tea towel material. We watched the rest of Gattaca in chemistry today and it's just a weird film, and also slightly boring. But then again I'm really picky with what I like in films. I'm pedantic with everything.

I found an adorable rabbit photo:

It's just so cute! It looks like it's clapping. awww.

Syzygy is such a cool word. It's when all the planets in the solar system align. I don't know how to pronounce it but it looks cool.

Yesterday I burnt money...

In Chemistry yesterday we did an experiment : burning money without the money actually burning. Needless to say, our experiment went horribly wrong and I ended up with half a fiver. I got reimbursed but still. The note could be used as £2.50 :P. We dissected a heart in biology which was interesting, we got to poke our fingers through the big arteries and veins.

There is no Doctor Who this weekend so it is going to be rather strange and I cannot talk to people about it on Monday.

I have rediscovered my love for AOE:II. There's just something so good about creating a huge army then killing loads of people and destroying towns. ^^

Geographyfied

I have been doing Geography ALL day long. I ended up on google maps searching for my house, and my house has a slide in it now! Last time it didn't! But our school's cabin things are still there from when we had the fire and they got taken away years ago.

English orals tomorrow. Really not looking forward to. I am going to fail. But I have Doctor Who to look forward to! Penultimate episode! The Torchwood team is in it! Rose! Agh, it's making me way too hyper. But the trailer looked just great.

I can smell baked beans on toast, but no one is cooking baked beans on toast... Maybe it's some phantom toaster or something.

Oh yeah, I'm halfway through rereading the Hobbit. Wahey! :P

Friday 20 June 2008

Exams are over!

All the exams are over! Yay! Physics today, and if I hadn't revised I wouldn't have got anything in that exam as our teacher is crap. I have a geography field trip on Monday -_-''

[sarcasm] ENGLISH ORALS ON WEDNESDAY YAY :) [/sarcasm]

Anyway today (after physics exam) I played on FFX, for about 5-6 hours. It's such a slow moving game that you have to play on it for that long to get anywhere. I played on it Wednesday night for one hour and didn't get ANYWHERE - I was trying to kill Seymour and died twice. Third time lucky, I defeated him today. My wrists kinda hurt as well (one day I'll get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome -_-). I really want Dad to buy an Xbox 360 as he wants to get a Wii. The only people who are going to play on it are me and my sister, who also wants the 360, but he still wants to get a Wii as its more family friendly. He's not even going to play on it ffs! Sorry, I should vent my anger elsewhere.

Tuesday 3 June 2008

Last few days of freedom before exams.

I say I haven't started my exams yet. Thats a lie. I'm halfway through my art exam (10 hours in all) and so far it is actually going quite well. At the start of the session today I went all panicky and thought 'I'm not going to finish this in 10 hours' but then by the end of the session my piece was almost done.

Half term was well... boring. We went down to our holiday home in Somerset and even though I brought my books down to revise I kept getting completely distracted by Final Fantasy III DS. Why are those games so bloody addicting? Damn, I love fantasy RPGS <3

I also need to catch up on Lost, I'm 3 episodes behind! I'm not much into Lost anymore, probably because I've had enough of it in the past year. I've watched 4 seasons which I think is enough.

Saturday 17 May 2008

I have a new obsession.

Final Fantasy X

Our playstation broke over a year ago, and Dad bought a new one off a friend. With it he got two games: Gran Turismo 3 and Final Fantasy X. I had a go playing on the latter game, but I didn't understand it at all. Now, a year later, I gave it another shot. This time around I totally understood the game. It is so fucking amazing and the graphics are great. I just love RPG fighting games now! Apparently Final Fantasy VII is good so I will need to get that off eBay sometime...

Meanwhile I have been asking for Rune Factory for over a year, Dad still hasn't got it yet. I can't get it myself because it isn't being sold in the UK. I might change my mind and ask for a FF DS game. I am obsessed with FFX now, and I have a biology test on Monday that I really need to revise for. My brother is currently on the playstation so I cannot go on it :(

Going away from FFX, it is my sister's birthday today! I got her a pencilcase, some pencils and gelpens from Paperchase.

Monday 12 May 2008

D of E... ouch.

My legs hurt from walking for about 10 hours on the weekend for a practice D of E hike. But it feels good in the kinda 'yay now I have stronger leg muscles' sort of way. We got a little bit lost on the first day going to the campsite, but we managed to right ourselves. For dinner I had some noodle thing, and one member of our group had never lit a match before so she had fun lighting about 10 matches and putting them out in different ways.

Our tent was NOT a three man tent. It was more like a one man tent. My face was squished up against the side, and it's a good thing I don't get claustrophobic. I woke up at 5 because of the birds but managed to get to sleep again. I woke up with the side of the tent in my face, dripping wet because it had been raining.

For breakfast we forgot oil so we cooked sausages but they got stuck to the pan so easily and there were loads of burnt on bits afterwards. I attempted to cook some scotch pancakes but gave up after about 4 and so our group ate them raw.

We left at 10, we were the last group to leave. We were the first to get back to the station at 1:10. We pwned everyone :P. We phoned the emergency number to ask if we could go home, but all we got was voicemail. The person who phoned her (the same one that lit a load of matches the day previously) was annoyed that there was voicemail and so said 'Fuck you'. She didn't realise that the voicemail 'beep' had gone, so now our D of E instructor has a great message to hear when she turns her phone on. We all hate her anyway, one of the groups that got seriously lost managed to get through to her on phone and she said 'you're on your own' and wouldn't help them. I feel sorry for her 11 month old kid, I really do, to have such a horrid mum like that.

Also, my retainers get mucky so bloody easily. grrr.

Slimy teeth

I got my braces off today: yay! My teeth feel all slimy :)

I bought Soundgarden's Superunknown on the weekend and it is FANTASTIC. I can't stop listening to it. I may buy some more SG soon...

Thursday 1 May 2008

Our physics teacher is COMPLETELY retarded...

English: alright
Maths: alright
French: mneh
PE: alright, we played volleyball
Physics: I swear our teacher is completely retarded. He gives us 40 minutes to do some sheet that everyone did in 10 minutes. So I spent the other 30 minutes stopping myself drawing on my physics book, and near about 10 minutes before the end got my MP3 player out and listened to The Cult. They are so good, but tomorrow I plan to go to HMV and buy some more CDs with my HMV gift card.

Heroes series 2 is just a little weird. It just doesn't feel the same as Series 1. I want to know who Monica is because people keep talking about her. And the Irish accents are hilarious.

Sunday 27 April 2008

Yesterday it was my birthday party. We headed out of the house at around 3:15 and got to our destination a little later. We went to the cinema, but there wasn't much I waned to see, so we went and saw Three And Out, which was alright. Afterwards we headed to Nando's, only to discover it was packed. Instead we went to Miso Noodle Bar which is really quite cool. I had rice with beef, chicken, prawns, veg and a sauce. It was really nice. That night we stayed up watching Naruto, The X-Files (which scared Zoe :P), Doctor Who and Meet The Fockers. The next day we had breakfast and played a few games, one of which was called Clay To Win, which is where there are two teams and a sculptor in each team, and the sculptor has to sculpt something out of play-dough and the other person has to guess. It was a really fun party ^^ I got a Cult album and a HMV giftcard, which I will probably spend on Soundgarden.

Wednesday 16 April 2008

Happy Birthday to me!

Today I listened to AC/DC's Back In Black, which I had already heard in full before, thanks to Planet Rock. I also listened to half of The Cult's Love (I only listened to half since by the time I had listened to that it was 10 and I needed to come on here, post my blog & go to bed) but it's a good album so far, great vocals, great guitar.

It's my birthday today too but I only got presents from my sister which were a white owl statuette and a money box, so now I have three money boxes :P. I'm getting a new watch since my current one I've had since year 2 :P. I love doing the :P face today for some reason :P.

Tuesday 15 April 2008

California

I was up at like 6 a week ago on Monday. By 8 I was at the airport and waiting to go through customs and stuff. We finally boarded the plane and *yay* a 10 hour flight. But all the seats had little interactive screens in the back of them and it was so cool as you could choose what movie/tv show/album you wanted to watch/listen to. I started off by watching This is Spinal Tap, as it was one of the movies on my 'to see' list (which has A LOT of movies on it). It was hilarious. After that I tried to go to sleep, but failed, so I watched the new St. Trinians, which was alright. I again tried to go to sleep but failed (stupid uncomfortable aeroplane seats) so I watched the first episode of Pushing Daisies (even though dad was recording it for me) and it was ohsocute. It's so colourful and happy and bouncy. ^_^ I also listened to INXS's 'Kick'.

When we arrived at the airport in San Francisco my luggage wasn't there. Damn terminal 5. We waited for ages after everyone had gone (5 other people didn't have their luggage). It still didn't turn up, so me, a year 8 and a teacher got into a taxi and drove to our hotel. It was sunny and San Francisco is beautiful; the bay is gorgeous. Since we arrived later than everyone else there was no time for a quick nap; and I was feeling somewhat jetlagged. We all headed out to dinner at Neptune's Palace on Pier 39. The tablecloth was made of paper and there were crayons on the table so we drew all over it. I had some prawn salad for dinner. Hell, this is going to be one long blog post.

It was Tuesday and today was the day we were going shopping in SF. Everyone went to Abercrombie and Fitch and everyone (apart from me) bought something. (I hate clothes shopping; so so boring. Go music shopping!) I ended up buying some Converses ($40=£20=half the price of England!) and some music CDs (Cult - Love, Electric, INXS - Kick [because I liked what I heard on the plane] and AC/DC - Back in Black).

After shopping we headed for Tahoe, but we did not stop at the shopping outlets on the way. The drive through the mountains was beautiful. We arrived, had dinner and went to bed. Our room had some cute kitchen area like the one when we went to Canada.

Breakfast was great - I discovered a love for waffles and maple syrup. Mmm... maple syrup... I want some dammit. I also had Froot Loops for the first time in seven years! I love their colourfulness even though they taste really really weird.

The first half of Day 1 of skiing was boring as we learnt snow ploughs and snow plough turns which I already knew. The second half we got to go down a nursery slope which was fun. Over the week I progressed onto harder green slopes and eventually blue slopes. No black slopes I'm afraid, but I probably would have managed to go way to fast and crash into a tree and die if I went on one. Saying that, someone did crash into a tree and hurt their knee, and another had to have stitches in her head.

The village behind our hotel was really cute and it had an ice cream shop and a chocolate shop and all these little cute stores as well as some clothing ones. I bought a Lake Tahoe hoodie, a mug and a couple of magnets for me and my sister. We bought some avalanche bark from the chocolate shop (which sounds disgusting but it is rice crispies and marshmallows and chocolate chips and stuff) and we also bought some oreos in white chocolate. We bought loads of food and we made jelly in a frying pan (as we had made more jelly in all of the glasses).

One evening we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe which was great, they had all these guitars and items of clothing owned by various rockstars. The rest of time we ate at a buffet.

I woke up yesterday and it was time to head off for the airport. On the way we stopped and I went to Taco Bell. I even have the receipt to prove it :P. On the way back on the aeroplane I watched I Am Legend and Léon. Then I actually managed to get to sleep. It was a great holiday. I would write more but I really cannot be bothered and you're probably bored by now. Besides, I need to go catch up on Doctor Who and the roman episode with the cambridge latin course people.

Sunday 6 April 2008

California!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to California tomorrow - yay!

It snowed this morning and I was just like OMGWTFBBQ because it is April and it was warm last week and yeah... So I ate my breakfast quickly and was out at like 8 making snowmen with my sister, which my brother eventually kicked over. The snow then melted, but I still think there is a little snowman mound of snow still out in the garden.

The last song I heard on the radio was the Cult's 'Edie', and now I really really want the 'Love' album (yes I know Edie isn't on Love, it's on Sonic Temple') and have been doing so for a year now. I hope I can get it cheap in California...

Nothing much else eventful happened today apart from packing for California. I've never been to America before (I've been to Canada twice though) so I'm really excited. And theres going to be loads of snow in Lake Tahoe (well not in the lake, but around it) so I guess England snowed today because it wanted to get me ready... Well I have my book to read on the flight, and yes it is IT (as mentioned in a previous post). I have also packed most of my clothes in my hand luggage as I am not trusting BA with their creepy Terminal 5. But wish me luck for tomorrow, :P.

Thursday 3 April 2008

Movie

I am always thinking about if my life were a movie, what camera angles would the different scenes be shot at/what music would go in what scene. The song with the scene usually ends up being whatever is in my head at the time, so me kayaking would have Velvet Revolver's 'Slither' to it. And I only had 'Slither' in my head due to the Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock advert. How I wish I had Guitar Hero. I asked my dad a year ago if he could get it and he still hasn't got it. Arghh.

We break up from school tomorrow, but my school has decided it will be a uniform day with lessons. Screw them. BUT it's California in four days time and I really need to do some Art and DT and practice my guitar now. Tomorrow is the season finale of Torchwood and then Doctor Who starts at some early time which is annoying because I'm used to watching it at 7pm.

Wednesday 2 April 2008

our form teacher... the Who..?

As I walked down the corridor towards our form room this morning I was greeted with The Who's 'My Generation'. This I found rather weird as I was convinced my form tutor only liked rubbish music, but you never know. Anyway I have AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' stuck in my head, which I don't hear very often and has a great riff.

I finished my London photo manipulated image painting today, but I still have loads of homework to do and I need to finish my batik. The teachers weren't here today so I couldn't do it. I also had three cover lessons today.

I am using the laptop at the moment and it is so hard to type on as the keyboard is really flat and thin and I'm not used to it. Bleh.

Tuesday 1 April 2008

I am actually quite proud of myself. I have (almost) learnt to play 'On Top Of Old Smokey' on the guitar. And I was reading tab, which I have never done before. I'm so happy. :)

We had a french test today which was bleurgh. In art, I managed to get nothing done because the fabric I was using just got stuck to the table and then our teacher told me it was not good to use that material as it was like a mesh. It really annoyed me, plus the fact we didn't get another lesson for batik.

On a happier note, it's my birthday in 16 days! Woo! A girl in my DT class who I sit on the same table as has the same birthday me, so she's always counting down. I don't know what I want for birthday, maybe a few DVDs? CDs? I want to see Twin Peaks as it's just one of those cult TV shows, but some idiot on the net had to go and post the bloody ending, so I know what happens. I still want to see it though. Speaking of TV, I need to go and watch some more X Files.

Monday 31 March 2008

It's exactly a week until I'm off to California. I've got most of my stuff now, and I have a stripy ski hat. I love stripy stuff. I even bought a new stripy pencil case the other day. The flights going to be ten hours =/ so I'm going to have to buy some books. I really want to read Stephen King's 'IT', mainly because it features some creepy clown.

I should also practice the guitar because I haven't practiced in months, quite literally. It's some vicious circle, as I don't want to practice the guitar because I'm crap at it, and I'm crap at it because I don't practice. I never get how my brain works.

I have a French test tomorrow, which I know I will fail, because I am rubbish at it. We had our geography test today, which actually went alright and I feel that I've done alright.

It's so weird, it still being light at 7:30, and now it's dark when I wake up. But I can't wait for summer, it always reminds me of good music. One song I always relate to summer is Billy Idol's 'White Wedding', I'm not sure why though. It just has that summery feeling about it. But yeah, California, I can't wait.

Sunday 30 March 2008

So I finished the 8 episodes of series 4 of Lost today. It's really good and ended on a cliffhanger, and now I have to wait 26 days to find out what happens. And I really want Heroes back on our screens, even though series 2 is apparently rubbish. I'm also looking forward to Pushing Daisies, as it's apparently really good.

I have a geography test tomorrow, which should have been last Friday, except our teacher forgot to photocopy the test. 1 week to the holidays...

Wednesday 26 March 2008

First post *yay*

Well it's my first blog post, when I really should be doing my DT, but screw that. My DT is to make a mood board for my rock band project and whilst looking for these pictures I have come across some pretty weird stuff - mainly just odd album covers. Yeah I haven't posted much today but that's because in all it was a pretty boring day - apart from a maths test which I have probably failed.
